Philosophy & Approach
Hi, I’m Renata — the heart behind Soluma.
The name Soluma was born from two words: Sol, meaning sun, and Luma, from lumen, meaning light. It reflects what I hope to offer through my work: a gentle guiding light for those navigating emotional pain, inner turmoil, or the weight of past experiences. I help people move out of the shadows and into the warmth of their authentic selves — where healing, clarity, and wholeness can begin.
I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I don’t believe in clinical distance or wearing a mask of expertise that puts me above you. I meet you human-to-human — with empathy, honesty, and care. My approach is holistic and integrative, meaning I tailor our work to suit you, not the other way around.
Whether you’re carrying childhood trauma, living with anxiety or depression, grieving a loss, or simply feeling lost in your own life — you're welcome here. I work with people from all walks of life, and I believe that healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself, but about reconnecting with who you truly are beneath the pain.
Together, we create a space where it’s safe to feel, to speak, to unravel — and ultimately, to grow. I bring both evidence-based modalities and deep compassion to each session, weaving in practices that support not only the mind, but the body, heart, and soul.
You don’t have to do it alone. Let’s walk toward the light — at your pace, in your way, with your story leading the way.
Why engage in Psychotherapy?
It can help with

Anxiety
The fast paced environment of our modern day lives means that anxiety is more prevalent than ever. Psychotherapy can help get to the root of your anxiety, develop strategies to deal with anxiety and help you understand yourself and your needs better.
Depression
Depression can be an incredibly challenging state to navigate. Psychotherapy can help process your emotions safely, develop compassion for your experience and explore the causes of your depression.
Trauma
Using a trauma-informed approach, psychotherapy creates a safe and trusting environment where you can begin to gently explore your trauma. Approaches used include somatic therapy and parts work.

Grief & Loss
Psychotherapy is a space where grief can safely exist, giving you permission to safely move through it at your own pace. There's no pressure to "get over it", but rather permission to feel whatever arises and find strategies to co-exist with your grief.
Self-Exploration
Psychotherapy is also a space for self-exploration, identifying patterns that you'd like to shift and peeling away layers of programming so that your authentic self can shine through.
Relationship Issues
Therapy helps you uncover your unconscious patterns, attachment wounds or triggers shaped by past experiences so you can become a more conscious partner, friend or parent. A trained professional can help you see your blind spots and find strategies for better communication and thriving relationships.
